Cross Contamination & Polish Film
Today, many installers and assembly houses are special finishing their own connectors to Ultra, Super and Angled finishes. It is very easy when leaving for a job or packing up at the end of the day to place all your polish film in one bag.
Beware! When using polish film that has grit sizes that can range from .l0um up to 30um, the more abrasive grit sizes with larger particles can contaminate the softer & smaller particles. It is easy to forget that the particle size in a piece of 15um polish film is 45x that of a .3um piece of polish film! This type of cross contamination can alter the make up of your polish films, which may result in a poorly finished connector.
Remember to insure the integrity of your polish film, cut down on waste and insure proper finishing of your connectors by utilizing separate bags for your different grit sized polish films.
